U.D.O.: In Mixing Mode
March 6, 2005U.D.O., the German band led by former ACCEPT frontman Udo Dirkschneider, have posted the following message on their official web site:
The band was working a lot in the last [few] weeks to finish the recording of the new album, which will be titled 'Mission No. X'. Stefan [Kaufmann, guitarist/producer] is finishing the mixing sessions in these days. The result sounds killer!!!!
"One week ago in Pulheim there was a photo session for this new album, it was a lot of fun...
"The reason why the gig was cancelled in Spain was that Igor [Gianola, guitar] broke one finger in his left hand, just one week before the gig. so he was unable to play for about three weeks, he just started in these days to play a little bit."
As previously reported, "Mission No. X" is tentatively scheduled for release late summer via AFM Records. 13 songs will reportedly appear on the follow-up to 2004's "Thunderball", whcih will mark the recording debut with the group of new drummer Francesco Jovino. Jovino joined the band last year as the permanent replacement for Lorenzo Milani, who left the group for "personal reasons." A world tour in support of the album will kick off in January 2006.
